If you're related to us by blood or marriage and you're reading this... please understand it as another plea for us all to chip in and spend Christmas up in the mountains (next year?) Yesterday we drove up to the Big Bear Mountains to play in the snow. We had soooo much fun, but as we could only last about 20 minutes before needing to rest and rewarm (and we didn't have a cabin to retreat to) it was a very short trip for a very long drive (see that? that's why we need the holiday in the cabin in the snow) :)

Christmas at Disneyland
So we went to Disneyland & California Adventure last Friday night for Angus' 18 month birthday (just kidding). :)
The first thing we did was watch the Pixar Play Parade. This is how Angus looked for most of it.
but apparently he gets that look from...
We also had dinner with princesses...
Waited excitedly for fireworks and snow...
and promptly fell asleep for them!

My name is Angus... and I like to DANCE!
Yo Gabba Gabba, here we come! (please excuse the frequent breaks. He's 1 and a half, he distracts easily) :)
We speak in sentences
My favorite so far has been "Momma, cracker please" but a hearty "Bye bye dog" and "I want to see that" are fun too.
Here's one of the first, caught on tape a few weeks ago... "where's the ball?"

Santa "guy"
I don't know why I thought there would be any chance that Angus would cheerfully greet Santa and pose for photos with him... but I thought I'd give it the old college try and, playing on his love of "guys" (truck drivers, trash men, gardeners, firemen, etc.) I referred to Santa as the "Santa Guy" throughout the day before we were headed to see Santa.
He was excited to meet "Santa Guy" until we got there and he discovered that Santa Guy is a strange old man with a scary beard!
He wouldn't come anywhere near him... even to get a cookie from Santa Guy... but I felt guilty about denying him the cookie altogether so this is the best we could do.
We did have fun coloring though! and wasn't his outfit so dang cute?!

Still so serious...
Gobble Gobble
You may have missed the opportunity to see this in person... it was only available for a limited time. Good thing we caught it on tape!
Happy Thanksgiving
Morning Walks
Lately we've been taking morning walks before Nana comes to pick Angus up for school. It's mostly an attempt to give Olive some more attention and activity but now that we've done it once or twice Angus now demands his "seooes" and "scockies" so we can "go walkee"
Often the walk errupts into some sort of tantrum because he doesn't want to go the same way Olive & I are going. This day I was able distract him with the camera
Pausing mid tantrum to give a hearty "cheese!" for the camera
Hiding to avoid having to put his hat back on
Attempting to run away once he realizes he's been found

Park Day
For Veteran's Day we took Angus & Olive to the park. It was the first really cold day so far this year (you know, a whole 68 degrees or something)
In this photo, Rod looks on as a drunken Angus stumbles down the path...
Baby Boy on a mission to get up close and personal with some Quack Quacks. Later he was so eager to make friends he ran straight into the lake! soggy shoes and socks on a cold day... fun times.
Learning to skip rocks. A 1 1/2 year old can do anything if you just show 'em how! Wait, he was only 16 months here!
Brief Beauty Shot
We also discovered that Angus has quite a talent...

Video Proof
Remember when I posted once about how Angus responded to being asked to set his cup down "gently"? You know, he hugged the cup? Turns out, I did videotape it and found it! Ta DA!

Happy Halloween!
Because Angus' Momma is awesome, she precarved the pumpkin and then put the pieces back in so he could take them out. It was a fun time. Shape sorting is one of his favorite activities!
Angus was a fire guy for Halloween. Check out the homemade costume... woopee!
We were very surprised how much Angus got into trick or treating. There were a couple moments of terror that involved older children in scary masks, and he always wanted to be held at the door of any given house, but he knew to take the candy from the bowl and said buh-bye to everyone. He gleefully ran from house to house and only got tired of doing that when his bag got so full he couldn't keep his balance anymore!
He also developed quite a fondness for the decor
