a message from beyond?

I scratched my hand on Sunday while pruning the rosebushes without wearing gloves. Careless, I know... but oh well. I noticed today that my injury had morphed from a meaningless scratch into a message from the other side.

all I can say is, "Hi to you too"

(edited to add) I was also thinking that maybe it was a 41... I just had a fortune cookie that said "Everything will now come your way 1 14 20 34 41, 17" Guess we know what my lotto numbers will be from now on! don't try and steal them, it will only work if i do it. i promise to be generous when the time comes :)

We did it!

We survived one entire week without Nana & Papo and even one entire day without grandparents as Tata & Lita left for Chile on Friday morning. Thank goodness Nana & Papo came back the very next day. The grandparent-less day was drama free. I think we are getting good at this!

We got a new camera. Yay! I wish I could take a picture of it to show it to you, but... oh wait, I can. Here is a picture of our new camera. It looks just like one of those chocolate See's suckers:

and here are a couple of pictures of our sweet baby boy (who is now 100% mobile and follows me around to see what I am doing and what he can get into)

momma, are you out there?

a closeup to confirm the cuteness as he peeks out of his bedroom doorway

rounding the office door

and, getting into momma's freecycle pile.

Angus to English Dictionary

Because Angus has a bilingual (English/Spanish) background, he finds it difficult to start a word with a consanant. For that reason, many of his words are prefaced with an "a" or "e" sound. Think: Stereo (English) vs. Estereo (Spanish)

ama ma ma ma ma: Momma

apa pa pa pa pa: Poppa

Bah!: Ball (&/or any other object that he wants or has in his hand)

Puh (more P than uh): Up

Hehuh: You are not funny, but you seem to be trying hard so here is a courtesy laugh

Chortle Chortle Chortle: You are funny

He aichke!: You are HILARIOUS!

aDohg: a Dog (duh!)

Pfft! or duhb duhb duhb: Either a response to someone else making the same noise/or... I am upset and about to start whining.

Aaaaahhhouh: I am going to give you a kiss now

Flapping arms: Pick me up

Waving: buh BYE!

:)

It's a family affair

Rod exits bedtime routine each night after the bath & jammies. His exit is signaled by a kiss; first one for Angus, then one for me. Tonight, Angus joined in on the one for me. he he

Picture This

We have no camera... ours broke while we were still at the park a few days ago. We had purchased a replacement plan, but alas... it has expired. :(

For now, picture this:

#1 Angus sitting on the rug with legs stuck straight out in front of him with a tissue box in his lap. He pulls out one and looks pleasantly surprised as another follows. He continues, one tissue at a time, gleefully grunting with each one until there is a pile of tissues so tall they come up to his waist. Then madly grabbing them in handfuls and throwing them into the air!

#2 Angus in the bathtub and me standing above him blowing bubbles. He stares in amazement as they float down around him. Then as they start to land he tries to pick them up and chuckles as he smashes them. The largest bubble lands on the tip of his nose long enough for him to stare at it cross eyed and give one final giggle before it pops.

and now, for your viewing pleasure... a never before seen video!

Tata & the Macarena: a love story

At the end of the last handful of visits we have paid to Angus' Tata & Lita's house Tata & Angus have danced to the Macarena. It is a tradition that started with Angus' cousins Ethan & Jacob; much to the dismay of their parents... and now Rod and I.

Last night we started to say goodbye and Tata left the room to turn on the stereo. Suddenly, Angus was on a mission! He was leaping from furniture piece to furniture piece to get to Tata. Never mind Momma who he had been clinging to all night, Tata was the only thing on his mind. MUST... HAVE... MACARENA! As the music started he stopped in his tracks, and began to dance. Bouncing, smiling, laughing, reaching for Tata.

So, sweet.

We had a swingin' good time!

Highlights from Angus' first trip to the park! Our camera broke later that day so it might be a while before we have new pictures to share. :( I intend to make up for that my posting vintage Angus soon. Miss you, Nana & Papo!
